PC Moment: Art lovers, collectors and supporters gathered to view timeless works by two artists from exceptionally different worlds — Turkish artist of Armenian descent Kristin Saleri and Michaelangelo. With a celebratory cocktail reception, hosts Marina and Dr. Nansen G. Saleri welcomed guests to view the late Saleri’s original pieces, described as “an inexplicably harmonious fusion of Eastern Mysticism and Western Impressionism.”
Throughout her prolific career, Saleri was honored with many international awards and her works have been acquired by numerous museums. The juxtaposition of Saleri’s acclaimed work with that of the masterful Michaelangelo presented a rich opportunity for art appreciation.
Since its opening, Michelangelo’s Sistine Chapel: The Exhibition has enthralled viewers with its larger than life, true to size reproductions of the Sistine Chapel murals. While in its final week in Houston (next stop: Hangzhou, China), the exhibition captivated guests, who remained well beyond the evening’s closing time as they continued to peruse the displays and enjoy the rarity of seeing both exhibitions under one roof. The Michelangelo exhibition closes this Monday, September 3.
