An Army of Models, a Dream Car and a Red Carpet Make this Night of Stars Rock: Global Fashion Power Players Embrace the Dallas Moment

PC Moment: The fashion stars aligned in Dallas for Fashion Group International’s celestial annual gala. FGI Dallas’ 2017 Night of Stars Gala brought fashion powers from across the globe to Fair Park’s Hall of State, including one very notable Italian designer and her artfully woven wares.
Dressed in their most glam black tie attire, guests were welcomed into the Art Deco building by a red carpet and a shiny Rolls Royce. Inside, an army of models posed on the grand staircase, showing off the colorful and carefree Missoni Spring 2018 collection.
Hot pink sweater suits, multi-color fringe gowns and the label’s signature patterns charmed onlookers like Neiman Marcus fashion director Ken Downing, and famed fashion designers Prabal Gurung and Mary Katrantzou. Angela Missoni, ringleader of the Italian knitwear empire, was honored later in the evening with the Lifetime Achievement award from FGI.
Cocktail hour also gave guests a chance to view exhibits from the FGI Scholarship Competition, while sipping on champagne and specialty cocktails from Kruto Vodka.

Cameron Silver, author and fashion director of H by Halston, served as emcee and kicked off the evening’s festivities. Ms. Missoni was the first honoree to be recognized, giving a short but sweet speech about her career and the similarities between Texans and Italians (a love of food, life, and, of course, a fearless sense of fashion).
Nasiba Adilova, co-founder of The Tot, was given the Career Achievement in Business Award; Kenny Goss and Joyce Goss were named Art Patrons of the Year; Michael Aram received the award for Career Achievement in Design; and beloved professor Marilyn Sullivan was recognized for Career Achievement in Education.
