Top High School’s 40th Anniversary Gets Some Celebrity Power

PC Moment: Booker T. Washington High School for the Performing and Visual Arts has served as the starting point for some of art’s most notable performers (Edie Brickell, Erykah Badu, and Norah Jones to name a few). So its no surprise that the school’s Flyinghorse fund-raiser has garnered its own star status.
With a 40th anniversary to toast, partygoers turned out in force for a full playbill, which included cocktails at the Dee & Charles Wyly Theatre, before heading to the Montgomery Arts Theatre for the main attraction: a student showcase, featuring everything from Italian opera to flamenco dancing, and the headline performance from Booker T. alum, Miguel Cervantes, who is a lead cast member for Hamilton in Chicago. Talk about ovation-worthy.
