What: Kickoff for the 6th Annual Harvest Benefitting North Texas Food Bank
Where: The W Dallas Residence
PC Moment: The sixth annual Harvest benefitting the North Texas Food Bank officially kicked off with a swinging high-rise cocktail reception and the announcement of renowned chef Dean Fearing as the year’s honorary chair. Harvest co-chairs Lisa and Marvin Singleton welcomed more than 50 host committee members and supporters for wine, light bites and glittering skyline views.
To continue the momentum, the couple boldly revealed their fundraising goal of $300,000, which will directly translate to 900,000 meals for individuals served by the North Texas Food Bank, a top-ranked nonprofit hunger-relief organization that provides access to more than 190,000 meals each day for hungry children, seniors and families through a network of more than 1,000 programs and 200 partner agencies.
North Texas Food Bank president and CEO Trisha Cunningham expressed her gratitude for everyone’s support, sharing that in every zip code and every county, one in six people are going hungry on a regular basis. And even more shocking, one in four children go hungry.
With Dallas ranking fourth in child food insecurity and sixth in food insecurity overall out of all the counties in the United States, the work of North Texas Food Bank and its generous supporters and volunteers couldn’t be more necessary. One way to support is by purchasing tickets or sponsorships to Harvest, which will be held Friday, September 20 at the Dallas Arboretum and Botanical Garden.
Sponsorships begin at $500 and individual tickets are $200 each (for more information, click here).
