Bidding Over Coveted Fine Art Gets Intense at the Junior League

Who: Chair Frazier King; quick-tongued auctioneer Rick Wester of Rick Wester Fine Art; HCP interim exec director Linda Shearer; HCP founding members including Fred Baldwin, Gay Block, Peter Brown, Patsy Cravens, Mary Margaret Hansen, George Kraus, Janice Rubin, Anne Wilkes Tucker, and Wendy Watriss (all of whom had prints up for auction); Catherine and Arnaud Couturier, Bevin Dubrowski, Jereann Chaney, Libbie Masterson, and Julie Blackmon.
PC Moment: In its 35th year, the HCP Fine Print Auction shows no signs of slowing down. A packed ballroom meant guests were bidding on more than 75 lots from a wide variety of photographers (including Julie Blackmon, Uta Barth, Kunie Sugiura, Klaus Enrique, John Chervinsky, Keliy Anderson-Staley, Bob Gomel, Julie Brook Alexander, Cara Barer and Suzanne Anker) while raising money for HCP. In total, more than $200,000 went toward HCP’s innovative exhibitions that highlight emerging and established artists, as well as educational and outreach programming.
