Houston Grand Opera’s Lavish White-Tail Ball, Rocking After-Party are Almost Here
Red Carpet Glam, Masks and Iceland Grooves
By Shelby Hodge //
As one of the premiere galas of the spring social season, the Houston Grand Opera Ball traditionally resonates with red carpet glamour and decorative splendor. Saturday night’s white-tie extravaganza promises to kick it up a notch with its masked-ball theme, Carnevale di Venezia.
Ball chairs Zane and Brady Carruth have envisioned the evening at Wortham Theater Center in Venetian grandeur and they are encouraging guests to join the party and wear a mask. No Halloween disguises, thank you. Think glittery, feathered, flowered extravaganzas.
For the after-party, targeting young professionals, chairs Carrie and Sverre Brandsberg-Dahl are pulling out the stops with a late-night fete full of surprises. And they have tapped DJ Yamaho from Iceland to stir things up after Big Blast and the Party Masters band gives the white-tie crowd a dance floor break.
