PC Moment: The power of Houston Methodist’s Supportive & Palliative Care service was brought to life through the moving testimonials of Neil Bush, whose mother Barbara Bush died in April, and Libbie Nelson. Nelson, Lou Houser and Wendy Moreland chaired the luncheon that benefited the service and the hospital’s Department of Spiritual Care.
A panel discussion moderated by Houston Methodist president and CEO Dr. Marc Boom addressed the integration of palliative and supportive care into the work of health care teams that are caring for patients. Joining Boom were clinical social worker Sarah Grudier, senior chaplain Bettie Hightower and Dr. Karina Ramirez.
