What: Houston Symphony Children’s Fashion Show and Luncheon
Where: River Oaks Country Club
PC Moment: Despite the presence of Dorothy, the Tin Man et al of The Wizard of Oz, it was the youngsters — from toddlers to teens — that stole the show as they walked “the yellow brick road” catwalk in fashions from Macy’s. Even Dorothy’s ruby red slippers couldn’t compete with runway adorables. The fete, which raised $70,000 for the symphony’s outreach and community programming, continued with the Symphony’s Instrument Petting Zoo, crafts, a photo booth and wizardly entertainment. Applause, applause for chair Saula Centa Valente, who orchestrated the event for more than 270 guests.
Who: Lindley Arnoldy, Viviana and David Denechaud, Mary Lynn Marks, Mady and Ken Kades, Lilly Andress, Vicki West, Gina and Saib Saour, Christie and Billy McCartney, Emily VanHoutan, Betty and Jess Tutor, Cynthia Ernyey, Darrell Palm and Ibolya Ernyey.
