Media Man’s a Crime Stopper at Heart

What: Ribbon Cutting of the Crime Stoppers‘ new Dave Ward Building
Where: The site at 3001 Main Street
PC Moment: Proclamations and tributes to the Guinness World Record holder and local TV news giant for whom the building was named were made by Congresswoman Sheila Jackson Lee, Lt. Gov. Dan Patrick, City Council member Brenda Stardig and Crime Stoppers executive director Rania Mankarious. Even the State Troopers joined the party, presenting Ward with an official Texas State Trooper hat. Following the program and ribbon cutting, guests were invited to tour the facility where Ward has a permanent office in honor of his efforts at putting Crime Stoppers on the map. A heavy-hitter crowd turned out to honor the veteran newsman. None could have been prouder than his wife, Laura Ward.
