PC Moment: Pulitzer Prize-wining reporter Michael Rezendes of the Boston Globe Spotlight team shared his story with more than 500 guests. Mayor Sylvester Turner took bows as honoree for his contributions to public safety, both now and during his tenure in the Texas House of Representatives. The event doubled as a tribute to Dave Ward, celebrating 50 years as KTRK Channel 13 news anchor, with praise from his wife and gala coordinator Laura Ward, NASA astronaut Scott Kelly, Tilman Fertitta and emcee Jan Carson. The venerable news anchor, for whom the new Crime Stoppers building is named, took this opportunity to announce his retirement date — December 9.
