What: Lawn Party featuring Huntsman Airstream Mobile Tailoring Studio
Where: Home of Anne and Steve Stodghill
PC Moment: A tailor in a trailer may not sound very glamorous – but famed Savile Row institution Huntsman can make anything look sophisticated with a little alteration. For more than 167 years, Huntsman has served iconic customers such as Clark Gable, Winston Churchill, Katharine Hepburn, Lucian Freud and Alexander McQueen.
Now, the bespoke tailor is touring across the United States in a customized, vintage Airstream Mobile Tailoring Studio. While the metallic exterior evokes classic Americana, the inside is all British charm and luxurious tweeds.
Huntsman made its first stop in Texas on April 7 at the Preston Hollow residence of Anne and Steve Stodghill. The Stodghills, along with co-hosts Liz and Scott Kimple, threw a lively lawn party to celebrate the British icon’s Dallas moment.
Lucky guests had the opportunity to step into the mobile tailoring studio and get a taste of Savile Row craftsmanship with Huntsman’s bespoke experience. The cleverly designed airstream includes a bedroom which converts into a complete fitting room with a triptych mirror. The interior is fitted with lounges upholstered in Huntsman tweeds (designed by loyal customers Sir John Richardson, Hamish Bowles, Leo Daly III and Robert Couturier).
The evening also included British inspired bites, lawn games, bagpipe performances, and a tasting with Balvenie Scotch.
Who: Hosts Anne and Steve Stodghill and Liz and Scott Kimple mingled with Dallas’ most fashionable guests including, Rhonda and Fraser Marcus, Stephanie Seay, Lisa and Marvin Singleton, Maxine and Ben Trowbridge, Jenna Alexander, Katy and Lawrence Bock, Diane and Mark Laroe, Jonika Nix, Kara and Randall Goss, Natalie and Wilson Chu, Kristen Sanger, Capera Ryan, Kary and Eduardo Brittingham, Lisa and Bill Ogle, Bela Coooley, Jerry Miller, Carole and Scott Murray, Holly and Stubbs Davis, and Robert Weatherly.
