Latin Power Women Party Poolside at Swank New Hotel ZaZa

What: Latin Women’s Initiative luncheon and fashion show Kick-Off

PC Moment: It was perfect weather for a poolside party at the swank and spanking new ZaZa and supporters of the Latin Women’s Initiative turned out in force, more than 150. Kickoff events are more typically smallish, low-key affairs. But just like the Latin Women’s Initiative annual luncheon, this night rocked.

Gloria Luna Bounds and Daisy Mendoza, chairs of the 16th annual luncheon and Latin-flavored fashion show, had little trouble stirring up interest in the May 11 fundraiser to be held at the Hilton Americas-Houston. LWI president Michele Leal Farrah shared details of the event and announced that Jessica Rossman will serve as honorary chair.

Highlight of the party fare were the cranberry grapefruit mimosas, made from a recipe in the LWI cookbook Latin Flavors. And then there were the fashionable temptations from Collectivo, which specializes in Latin labels.
