What: Cointreau Summer Soirée with Caroline Harper Knapp
Where: DEC on Dragon
PC Moment: When luxury liquor brand Cointreau throws a Summer Soirée, you know it’s going to be a good time. But when influencer and founder of the House of Harper blog, Caroline Harper Knapp jumps in to host the party, you know it’s going to be a gorgeous event not to be missed.
Harper, a champion of at-home entertaining, fresh cocktails and Instagram, joined Cointreau to celebrate the Original Margarita and The Art of La Soirée on July 25. The party brought Dallas’ most stylish set to DEC on Dragon for an evening of breezy summer fun.
Cointreau created an Acapulco-inspired party paradise on the rooftop, overlooking the city skyline. The patio was decked out with lush greenery, beach-chic furniture, and refreshing pops of Cointreau-orange décor. Not to mention, plenty of icy cocktails on hand to beat the late-July heat.
The Instagram-worthy bash drew fashionable Dallasites including Amanda Miller, Camille Elena, and Lauren Johnson.
The evening began with a hands-on lesson in mixology from Cointreau’s resident expert. A few guests arrived early to learn how to make an absolutely perfect margarita – a beverage which was supposedly first crafted by Dallas socialite Margarita Sames in Acapulco, Mexico in 1948. A few shakes, pours and sips later, a new generation of Dallas society had mastered making the iconic drink.
After learning a few more tricks, class was dismissed and the party began. DJ Blake Ward spun sunny tunes while Cointreau provided a build-your-own-margarita table and unique snacks. Margarita enthusiasts personalized the famous drink with their choice of fancy salts and exotic infusions.
As the sun set over the Design District, Cointreau pulled out one more stop: a teetering margarita tower, overflowing with tequila-laden goodness. From the looks of it, this cocktail party will be hard to top.
