Shortly after Zadok Jewelers opened its swank new Houston emporium on Post Oak Boulevard, the jewelry house began hosting special events on the spacious second floor, known as Upstairs at Zadok. None have been more interesting than the recent Leading Women program. Before a gathering of more than 50 invitation-only guests, four highly successful women discussed the ups, downs, delights and the occasional misery of their success.
A huge success in her own right, Houston native Meredith Walker, former head of talent at Saturday Night Live and co-founder of Amy Poehler’s Smart Girls, led the discussion with Drunk Elephant founder Tiffany Masterson (who sold her company to Shiseido for $845 million), Forbes spotlighted jewelry designer Jennifer Meyer of Jennifer Meyer Jewelry via Zoom; and globally recognized interior designer Nina Magon, founder of the Nina Magon Studio.
Before the ladies got down to the panel discussion, which one observer astutely described as “refreshingly candid, at-times emotional, and often side-splittingly funny,” Anti-Defamation League regional director Mark T0ubin took the floor. His subject was the league’s No Place for Hate anti-discrimination program that seeks to end bullying in schools.
With Tubin’s remarks completed, champagne and a light buffet brunch served, the mid-morning discussion between the femmes launched, taking on the air of a powerhouse girl party where they bared all in the tales of their personal and professional journeys. In the end, the Upstairs at Zadok program was inspiring and educational. Applause, applause to Zadok for the refreshing event.

Bonus for those on the guest list were the Zadok-branded swag bags stocked with Drunk Elephant’s Virgin Marula Luxury Face Oil, Mon Cheri Macarons and a signature Nina Magon Hara Bougie Candle.
