Here is what we have been up to this week. On Wednesday, chairs Leisa Holland-Nelson and Laura Max Nelson launched their first runway show benefitting Recipe for Success Foundation with a special appearance and fashion presentation by Sachin & Babi, followed by an exquisite VIP dinner with the designers. Also on Wednesday, guests enjoyed cocktails while perusing the showroom at Internum for the grand opening of “Charolette Periand: A Modernist Pioneer” and the presentation of the chaise longue LC4 CP, an homage by Cassina to Perriand for the occasion of the 2014 Icones Collection by Louis Vuitton. Thursday, La Grange jewelry designer Richard Schmidt and J. Landa debut their recent collaboration with a trunk show dubbed “Diva de los Muertos,” showcasing oh-so-chic pieces adorning sugar skulls and skull-faced bridal catrina figures. On Saturday, Paige and Tilman Fertitta once again open their home for the Houston Police Foundation’s 7th annual True Blue Gala, an unforgettable and action-packed evening benefitting Houston’s heroic men and women in blue.
