A Stunning Memorial Manse Hosts the Ultimate Blues Party: Music, Mules and a Horde of Blues Brothers

What: Bayou Preservation Association‘s 50th anniversary gala dubbed “Blues on the Bayou.”
Where: The Memorial area estate of Colleen Holthouse, overlooking Buffalo Bayou.
PC Moment: Blues Brothers attired wait staff circulated through the crowd of more than 350, serving Memphis mule signature cocktails while blues musician Andrew Karnakas serenaded and later the sounds of KAOS wafted across the bayou banks. The party crowd grazed across the sloping lawn, visiting food stations that featured Gulf Coast, Cajun and Memphis blues cuisine. The evening raised more than $175,000 for the non-profit that supports conservation and restoration of local waterways as well as development of recreational activities.
