By Errin Maye //
What: Heart of Fashion Gathering & Charity Donation Presentation
Where: The home of Heart of Fashion founder Vivian Wise
Who: Founder Vivian Wise; her father Bill Wise and sister Mary Elizabeth Wise; Recipe for Success Board Member and CEO of Luca Technologies Inc. Bob Cavnar; President and CEO of Texas Gulf Coast Chapter of the Lupus Foundation of America Rebecca Kramer; Birthday Party Project representative Lesley O’Leary; Vice President of Marketing and Communications at Star of Hope Mission Vivian Winslow; local philanthropist Carolyn Farb; Tootsies Creative Director Fady Armanious; and a bevy of stylish guests including Beth Muecke, Melissa Holton, Sharon Schwartz, Donna Grehn, Lenny Matuszewski, Mark Sullivan, Laura and Steve Jones, Matt Burrus, Michael Pearce, Maya Fastoff, and Jaquel Andrews.
PC Moment: Heart of Fashion founder, Vivian Wise invited close friends into her home for an intimate evening to celebrate the second year of her fashion-forward philanthropic event, while sharing the reality of its future. Though she announced the downsizing of the event, Wise reminded her guests of its cause and what makes it special.
In the wake of her diagnosis with a rare skin disease, Wise made the event and moment much more personal and heartfelt, making the case that Heart of Fashion and its donations are important not just to her, but the also to the community. There were sips and bites, an intimate seating arrangement and the Lupus Foundation, Birthday Party Project, Star of Hope Mission, and Recipe for Success were each awarded $40,000 donations.
Come May, the fashion event will be refocused and reborn.
