Young Professionals’ Double Birthday Party Brings a Wild Mini Met Gala to Houston

PC Moment: Decked in their most dazzling frosty attire, nearly 100 guests gathered in Houston’s warehouse district to fête the 26th birthdays of PaperCity account exec and style blogger Kara Smith and her bestie Kristyn Story.

The Met Gala-themed soirée called on attendees to follow a progressive, winter-centric dress code as the night was deemed “The Coldest Summer Ever.” Guests stepped up to the challenge, rocking everything from metallic, bedazzled jumpsuits to fur-rimmed cloaks.

The downtown art studio turned winter wonderland was enhanced by a bevy of party features. Keeping with the icy theme, an ice sculpture carved into a monstrous “KS” (the birthday girls’ initials) took center stage, while partygoers indulged in flavored ice courtesy Moody Ice Frozen Treats.

The crowd also noshed on an array of light bites and flowing libations including a specialty Spicy Summerita — putting the summertime in the night’s coldest summer ever theme.

Guests took a spin in the glittering Xpressions photo booth before dancing the night away thanks to tunes via the award-winning, Billboard reporting DJ Anthenz.
