In addition to offering the chance to explore the exhibits after hours; being the museum’s largest annual fundraiser for its innovative educational programs; and serving up some of the most unique culinary creations, catered by Wolfgang Puck; we love it for its all-out dedication to a theme

2018 chairs Heather and Chris Gilker and Linda and Ken Wimberly invited more than 1,000 guests to “Rock the Perot,” which they did with the help of David Bowie and Prince impersonators, a violinist playing Metallica, geode-encrusted cakes, and a Guitar Hero competition. While partygoers may have been too busy rocking out to appreciate details like the extensive selection of rocky soil wines, the evening raised a cool $1 million for educational programing, scholarships and research.
