Dallas weekends are packed full of events, but how many of them are truly worthy of your time? PaperCity‘s new events calendar offers a curated look at all of the best things to do in North Texas. But everyone can still use an expert.

PaperCity‘s Weekend Expert Megan Ziots culls our calendar for your must dos in this regular weekly series. This weekend, Halloween events are in full swing and we’ve gathered tons of spooky activities and parties to celebrate.

Dia de los Muertos Parade & Festival

Dallas’ inaugural Dia de los Muertos parade and festival is coming up this Saturday at Dallas City Hall Plaza. A new tradition for the City of Dallas, the parade’s mission is to honor and celebrate the family and friends who are no longer with us. The 1.3 mile parade will begin at 5 pm and the event takes place from 4 pm to 11 pm. Festivities also include live music, fireworks, food and drinks, arts & crafts and more. It’s encouraged to dress up in authentic and traditional attire.

A family friendly event, kids (and adults) can wear their favorite animal costume and play in an inflatable obstacle course. There will be craft beer for those over 21 at the Dallas Zoo beer garden and the Herpetarium will have a special exhibit of all things crawly. A pumpkin patch is the perfect photo up and kids can also enjoy face painting and other activities.
