Luxury Movie Theaters and Bowling Alley Combo Lands in North Texas

Massive Entertainment Complex Aims to be a Game Changer

BY // 06.08.18

I’m not sure when exactly bowling made a comeback, but between Scout, Pinstack, Bowl & Barrel and others, it’s a full-fledged trend. Now, Dallasites are getting yet another bowling venue – but this one has an interesting twist.

Strike + Reel, a massive entertainment venue centered around bowling and cinema, will open in far north Dallas in 2019.

Entertainment Properties Group, Inc. will bring the concept to George Bush Tollway and Holford Road, a few miles southeast of Plano. The 90,000-square foot venue will include luxury, dine-in movie auditoriums (with full bar service), bowling lanes, interactive video games and a chef-inspired restaurant and bar.

“Our mission is to create fun and memorable experiences for our guests and team by providing engaging dining and entertainment destinations,” Mark Moore, CEO of Entertainment Properties Group, Inc., says in a statement. “We have been working on this concept for quite some time and we are excited to announce the first location here in our North Texas home.”

Dallas-based Entertainment Properties Group was founded in 2005 — and it’s helped power at least part of this bowling comeback. It also owns Pinstack, which has locations in Allen, Las Colinas and Plano, and other entertainment and dining venues.

The movie theater half of this new Strike + Reel  fits right in with the trend of more upscale theaters with luxury notes such as iPic. One thing’s certain, this is one massive North Texas entertainment play.
