What: Helping Our Heroes Foundation celebrates its 7th Annual Gala and Golf Tournament
Where: Las Colinas Country Club
PC Moment: Helping Our Heroes Foundation kicked off their two-day gala on a Saturday with a warm welcoming for all wounded warriors. Supporters gathered for dinner Saturday night where they heard speeches from co-chairs Michael Marasco and Travis Wailson, as well as local heroes. Throughout dinner, there was also a chance to take part in a silent and live auction. And of course what’s a party without dancing? The night ended with a dance floor of people with tunes by DJ Jennifer Miller.
The event continued its festivities on Monday, September 11, when golfers and their guests participated in a moment of silence to honor the victims of the terrorist attacks 16 years ago. To wrap up the second night, an awards ceremony took place while everyone enjoyed cocktails, dinner and prizes.
Beneficiaries of the foundation include The Marine Corps Scholarship Foundation and Semper Fi Fund.
Who: Photojournalist MSgt. Jeremy Locke, MLB Hall of Famer Ivan “Pudge” Rodriguez, former Dallas Stars goalie Marty Turco, ESPN radio host Brady Tinker, PGA pro Joel Edwards.
