Free Press Houston is partnering with New York-based creative agency Work-Order to bring a winter festival to Houston. Day For Night will take place at Silver Street Studios December 19 through 20, and while a schedule and acts have not been announced, Bandsintown reports that popular DJ and producer Flying Lotus will perform at the event on December 20.
“What we aim for here is the wonder, the jaw-dropping allure, the accoutrements that make a festival fun: socially relevant risk-taking art and the surprises that catch participants off-guard to let the magic in,” says Omar Afra, publisher of Free Press Houston and a co-founder of Free Press Summer Festival, an annual event that has featured the likes of Willie Nelson, The Decemberists and Jack White.
The partnership between FPH and Work-Order, which is owned by Keira Alexandra and Houston native Kiffer Keegan, will include musical performances, technology, sound and art.
A Day For Night spokesman says pre-sale tickets (from $135 for a weekend general-admission pass) are available now.
