Michelle Obama is Headed to Texas to Bare Her Soul: The Former First Lady Books NBA Arenas and Major Venues For New Mega Tour

There’s a book tour coming to the Texas unlike any you’ve ever seen. Whether you’re the type to attend readings on the reg at indie bookstores, the first in the autograph line in Barnes and Noble, or you prefer to read at home on your Kindle, this tour may change what you think of the process.

This book tour is being held in NBA arenas (the Toyota Center and American Airlines Center) and major college venues (University of Texas’ Frank Erwin Center).

The former First Lady is ready to bare her soul for huge crowds as part of the tour for her deeply personal memoir Becoming.

Obama has expanded her Becoming: An Intimate Conversation with Michelle arena tour for her book with new 2019 dates. Texas won big, with events in Houston, Dallas and Austin.

First, she’ll hit up Dallas on December 17th at the American Airlines Center. Then, it’s Austin at the Frank Erwin Center on February 28th. She’ll round out her Lone Star State travels in Houston on March 2nd.

Tickets for the Houston stop go on sale this Saturday at 10 am. But if you just can’t wait to snag those tickets, you can register for Ticketmaster Verified Fan Presale through this Wednesday to get some early access to tickets before the general public. There will also be the option to purchase a limited number of VIP meet-and-greet packages.

For each event, Obama will discuss her past and present, both public and private, with a moderator. She’ll speak with former government official and businesswoman Valerie Jarrett in Dallas. The moderators for Houston and Austin haven’t been announced yet.

Attendees can expect honest reflections on the events that have shaped Michelle Obama, spanning from her start in the South Side of Chicago all the way to her time in the White House.

Becoming, which was released on November 13th in the United States and Canada, has sold more than three million copies. NDP Bookscan data shows that the hardcover edition has sold more copies than any other book published in the United States this year.
