Take that, Darwin and Chomsky! Tom Wolfe wants nothing to do with your theories, and in his new book sets out to disprove that language is “partly a product of biological evolution.” But the esteemed novelist fails, writes Jerry A. Coyne. Even so, I bet the book makes for a thrilling and fun read.
I love the color blue. It was my favorite crayon shade (cornflower, et al), and seeing it gives me calm, or, perhaps enlivens me. Seems that I am not alone. Bernd Brunner delves into the blue here.
