Created by Dallas native Schanck for the Dallas Museum of Art’s permanent collection, Curbed Vanity was crafted from objects from the immediate neighborhood of the artist’s Detroit studio and coated in resin and aluminum foil; inspired by another work in the museum’s permanent collection: the late-19th-century Martelé dressing table.
