Dallasite Jane Aldridge paved the forefront for fashion bloggers, launching Sea of Shoes in 2007 about her infatuation with designer shoes at the tender age of 15. Now the almost 22 year old (her birthday is Dec. 22 – HBD Jane!) is infatuated with more than shoes — an obsession with vintage Adolfo jackets, frayed denim, and bold gold jewelry, which she documents on her blog in various OOTDs and trend reports. Here, Jane’s gift ideas for a stylish holiday.
What is the quirkiest/most unique gift someone has given you?
Well, this is going to sound a little weird, but when I was 10 years old my mom got us hairy brown dolls with removable kidneys. That was memorable. They were by this really cool art group called Friends With You. He is named Chewbacca and he is sitting on my sofa right now.
Who is the hardest person to shop for each year?
My boyfriend. He has very exacting taste and already owns every kitchen gadget known to mankind.
What are your favorite holiday traditions?
We always make endless batches of my great grandma’s Orange Chocolate Chipper cookies. They are everyone’s favorite! My mom makes a very buttery grog and we watch “Love Actually” and “The Ref.” We like to pretend we’re Canadian the day after Christmas and make a gigantic batch of cookies for Boxing Day for our neighbors and mailmen. This year, we are making Christmas ornaments that look like our Chihuahua Miss Figgerbubbles — that should be fun!
