Aquazurra’s Edgardo Osorio Jets in for a Personal Appearance at Saks Fifth Avenue
By Francine Ballard //
Pretty young things adore him. Socialites, models, actresses and ingénues have all flocked his way like moths to a flame. Bar Rafaeli, Olivia Palermo, Poppy Delevingne, Sienna Miller and Emma Stone are a few of his many “Aquazurra Girls”. In fairness it would be hard to guess whether the root of his allure stems from his boyish charm or his aristocratic good looks and demeanor. Of course, there’s always the possibility that it’s the shoes themselves – they are quite stunning. Very stunning, in fact. And surprisingly comfortable, an uncommon medley.
Only 29, Edgardo Osorio has women’s shoes at heart and the world at his feet. The company’s headquarters, first boutique and his own living quarters co-reside at Palazzo Corsini, a 15th-century palace overlooking the Ponte Vecchio in Florence. In October, he opened his second store, in Mayfair, London. He says America is his next conquest, and Aquazurra will set up shop on Madison Avenue in New York this spring.
This is Osorio’s maiden voyage to Houston, and the self-proclaimed bon vivant will tell you he’s impressed with how friendly people are, and also how good the sushi is at Uchi. He will shake hands, sign shoes and create sketches for loyal Houston fans today, October 28, from 3-5 p.m. at Saks Fifth Avenue in the Galleria.
