The land of milk + honey
Austin-based spa chain milk+honey opens its first Houston location in West Ave. at River Oaks this winter. The spa will take over the former Trenza space at 2800 Kirby Drive. “We are thrilled to bring milk + honey to Houston,” says owner Alissa Bayer. “Our natural and organic line of products are made in Austin and we look forward to providing treatments that assist in natural healing processes.”

Stag Provisions for Men has teamed up with Red Wing Shoes for a special collaboration — the Red Wing Mohave boot for Stag. Retailing at $260, the boot showcases a design introduced by Red Wing in 1919 and offers the comfort of an oxford with the strength of a work boot. Red Wing has also covered the boot’s silhouette in Olive Mohave Rough Out, which is the same leather it ships to the Marine Corps for military boots.
“Since Stag opened, in 2009, we’ve established a strong relationship with the folks at Red Wing Heritage and the boots they build. We share a similar ethos in offering uncomplicated, authentic, and well-made products and thought it made sense to partner with Red Wing for our first shoe collaboration,” report Stag co-owners Don Weir and Steve Shuck.
The boot is available at all Stag locations (Austin, Dallas and Houston) and can also be purchased online. Stag will host an event on Saturday, October 24, from 2 to 4 pm officially launching the Mohave boot. Complimentary cocktails and Shiner beer will be served, and guests can enter a raffle for a chance to win a pair of Red Wing boots and a boot care kit.
Grammy-winning country singer/songwriter and Texas native Kasey Musgraves is no stranger to cowboy boots. Launching November 1, the boots retail from $300 to $450 and can be purchased at Lucchese’s Houston store (4051 Westheimer Road) as well as its other 3 locations (Nashville, San Antonio, Santa Fe) and can also be found online.
