Texas Fashion Power Makes More Big Changes in Wake of Aspen News: A Historic Dallas Closing, a Coffee Opening and Flagship Additions On Tap for Forty Five Ten

This morning provided exciting news for Forty Five Ten, which will open an 877-square-foot Aspen outpost this fall, in a building recently purchased by Highland Park Village co-owner Stephen Summers.

This afternoon, we learn that more changes are on the horizon for the Texas-based luxury retailer — some also exciting, and some bittersweet.

After 18 years in business, the T Room cafe on McKinney Avenue will close on Saturday, June 30 (RIP delicious Green Goddess salad), a decision said to be part of a bigger plan to focus on Forty Five Ten’s Downtown Dallas flagship.

Speaking of said flagship: Expect to see several floor moves and renovations inside the store this summer. Namely, Tenoversix will relocate from its space in The Joule hotel to the first floor of Forty Five Ten, as a boutique/designer incubator concept.

“We expect to see more walk-in traffic from Main Street since the assortment of books, design objects, emerging fashion and gifts will feel more approachable,” says Kristen Cole, who was appointed this past February as president and chief creative officer of Forty Five Ten and Tenoversix, following Headington Companies’ acquisition of the latter.

Forty Five Ten’s first-floor Copper Bar is also getting a makeover, set to transform into a new coffee bar concept. To remain close with the store’s staff and customers, Forty Five Ten’s marketing and buying teams will also move their offices to the third floor.
