Houston’s Top Model Revealed as Fashionistas Rock the Runway

Who knew that playing the Second Hand Rose could look so good? Just ask the dolls who strode the catwalk at The Women’s Home annual reNew &reDo fashion show and pop-up boutique, held at the Ballroom on the Bayou — before the torrential rains.

More than 300 partygoers turned out to browse The Women’s Home Cottage Shop pop-up and to applaud the local celebs who modeled the best of the best from the Cottage closet. Think Gucci, Prada, Escada, St. John and more presented in stunning fashion by Lenny Matuszewski and Tamara Bonar. Serving as emcee of the lively program was Houston-based designer extraordinarie Elaine Turner.

The evening honored glamorous shoe designer Joyce Echols, a stunner who could easily stop traffic.

Part of the evening fun was to see which model raised the most dinero for the non-profit. That honor, Top Model, went to dermatologist Dr. Karan Sra, owner of Adara Medical Spa. Others competing in the fun fundraising were co-chairs Kat Kearns, Mimi Irvin, and Gregg Harrison. Thanks to their efforts, ticket sales and boutique sales, the fashion splash raised close to $100,000.

The party fun included hors d’oeuvres from chef Ara Malekian, sweet treats from Seasons 52 and music by Bradley Davis Entertainment. VIP guests went home with whatever purchases they might have made as well as swag bags with goodies from Tory Burch, Elizabeth Anthony, Adara Med Spa and more.
