You can take the girl out of Texas … but not her designs! This month, former Dallasite Jennifer Alfano — a longtime fashion writer and editor whose résumé boasts credits from Vogue, InStyle and Harper’s Bazaar — launches her eponymous fine jewelry collection exclusively in Texas at Forty Five Ten. The collection calls to mind the graphic design qualities of the ’60s and early ’70s, à la David Webb and Aldo Cipullo, with birthstone pendants in hammered disc and pyramid styles. Inspired by the notion of sentimental heirlooms, Alfano seeks to elevate the birthstone concept by turning the mementos into personal everyday luxuries, each bauble handcrafted in NYC of 18K gold with semiprecious and precious stones. For now, the second installment of her collection — an edited assortment of non-birthstone pendants including a minimalist Bullseye and detailed Greek key — are available made-to-order via her website, jenniferalfano.com, where she regularly blogs about her favorite trends in style and beauty. $400 to $2,945, at Forty Five Ten.
