Nearly one year ago, radiant Milanese lifestyle brand La DoubleJ raised the vibration of Dallas when it opened the doors to its second U.S. location at Highland Park Village. Los Angeles native J.J. Martin, who serves as Creative Commander and Chief Spiritual Officer for the brand, founded La DoubleJ in 2015. Clearly, Martin loves to entertain.
During her Dallas visit in November, Martin hosted three energy-elevating, mood-boosting gatherings for the newly minted Dallas Sisterhood, including an intimate luncheon at Park House that centered around the Beto Val Homeware Collection.

In 2023, Martin released her first book, Mamma Milano: Lessons from the Motherland, which shared the best of Italian life. Next month, Martin will debut her second book through Vendome. As the name suggests, Table Energy: Entertaining with Italian Spirit celebrates joyful Italian hospitality. The book, a journey through these vibrant gatherings, brings La DoubleJ to life “through a celebration of entertaining, color, and community.”

In this manifesto for joyful living, Martin showcases parties and gatherings across her adopted homeland, from Milan to Venice, in Table Energy‘s 208 colorful pages. The lifestyle offerings from La DoubleJ dazzle and delight at al fresco lunches in Portofino, candlelit dinners on Lake Como, and sun-drenched feasts in Taormina. Each chapter pairs patterns from La DoubleJ’s tableware collection with seasonal celebrations like a festive Christmas gathering drenched in the brand’s signature punchy prints. Cheeky entertaining tips from Martin, paired with luminous photography, enliven the pages, which pulse with Martin’s energy. (The New York Times called her “Fashion’s Woo-Woo Queen.”)
Another singular voice, Leandra Medine Cohen, the founder of Man Repeller and author of Cereal Aisle, one of the most popular style newsletters on Substack, wrote the book’s foreword.
A visual feast and a must-own for all aspiring sciuras, Table Energy: Entertaining with Italian Spirit debuts in October via Vendome.
