Exclusive Personal Stylist Service Arrives at River Oaks District
and It’s Completely Free:
By Georgie Miller //
With the addition of the River Oak District back in late 2015, Houston was gifted with a bevy of new stores that were sure to expand any wardrobe or accessory collection. With the recent opening of The Studio, a personal shopping and styling space with seasoned stylist Lisa Powers at the helm, the process of navigating the District’s many options is now easier than ever.
Tucked away in a very private space adjacent to the iPic Theaters, The Studio brings a comfortable lounge and a spacious, well-lit dressing area among tidy displays of clothing and accessories that will be custom curated for each client’s styling appointment. Powers is able to pull looks from any of the River Oaks District stores, including Forty Five Ten, Dolce and Gabbana, Tom Ford, Alice and Olivia, and Baanou.
Powers works directly with each brand to hand select from upcoming season’s collections any coveted items and reserve it for her discerning clientele. A client will pull into one of The Studio’s exclusive parking spaces, walk about 10 steps, and be able to try on the best of River Oaks District’s offerings in one private, custom curated shopping session, free of charge.
“My relationship with the retailers of River Oaks District is so wonderful and they are allowing me to be a facilitator,” Powers tells PaperCity. “It’s very collaborative, while still being a one-stop shop.”
Powers started her styling career years ago working for Neiman Marcus in the Ladies Fine Apparel department. It was there that she learned the importance of selecting clothes and putting them in looks that are catered to each shopper’s personality and body type. After founding Stylepoint, her own personal styling brand, she quickly built a following with hundreds of loyal clients and developed great relationships with many Houston retailers. She was hand selected to manage the newest amenity that River Oaks District offers.
The Studio’s services don’t stop at the clothes. Powers can preorder any snacks, cocktails or wine from any of the District’s restaurants and have it waiting for you at your appointment. She’s not joking around when she promises a true custom tailored shopping experience.
