Thursday is a big day for Louis Vuitton as it hosts a worldwide fundraising event to benefit UNICEF. The French design house is calling on friends and clients to drop by one of its 460 stores, spread across 60 countries, and purchase the specially-designed UNICEF Silver Lockit pendant or bracelet.
Louis Vuitton initially partnered with UNICEF last year with the design of the delicate sterling silver pieces. Since that time, the company has contributed $2.5 million to the non-profit’s programs to raise funds for children in desperate circumstances across the globe.
The occasion is dubbed #makeapromise day and purchasers are encouraged to use the hashtag on social media in support of UNICEF. Louis Vuitton is billing the effort as “a renewal of its promise to bring hope for a better life to children in need.”
The Silver Lockit pendants are priced at $600 and the bracelets at $500. With each purchase, $200 is donated to UNICEF.
