Midnight Ice Changes the Jewelry Game
Manhattan Women Know It’s All About the Dark Sparkle
By Linden Wilson Jobe //
“Dark sparkle … a mixing of diamonds and rubies, moonstones and things that are very ‘of the night,'” says David Yurman in response to my query about his new Midnight Ice Collection, the jewelry brand’s first to join a few of its most iconic silhouettes — Renaissance, Albion and Chatelaine — in a dramatic new colorway of rings, bracelets, earrings and necklaces. “Fashion executives wear all black. The majority of women in Manhattan wear black. Black is official.”
Count us officially obsessed with Midnight Ice, which Yurman recently previewed to a captive audience bejeweled in his creations at Neiman Marcus NorthPark. Chatting about the bold cocktail rings, gray pendants laced in diamonds and bracelets studded with garnet, the charming jeweler had us in the mood for fall, craving all accessories dark and beautiful. $650 to $3,850, at the David Yurman boutique in NorthPark Center, Neiman Marcus in Dallas; the David Yurman boutique in The Galleria, Neiman Marcus in Houston; davidyurman.com.
