Oprah Winfrey Hits Houston for Surprise Shopping Spree: The Queen of Goodness Swoops Into River Oaks District with Bodyguard, Stuns Regular Shoppers

There are celebrities — and then, there’s Oprah, the ultimate supernova. That unique force swooped into Houston’s River Oaks District on Wednesday, stopping just about everyone in their tracks.

When Oprah shows up, it’s a whole new ballgame.

The Queen of Talk… really, essentially the Queen of Goodness… popped out of a black SUV with a bodyguard leading the way. She is confirmed to have shopped at Brunello Cucinelli (she’s a devoted customer of the brand) and the Stella McCartney boutique. (Of course, Oprah rather famously wore a Stella McCartney dress to the royal wedding.)

Hey, if you’re famous and in Houston, you’re going to hit River Oaks District. Houston’s ultra upscale shopping land has become a lure for everyone from Kylie Jenner to Reese Witherspoon. And now, biggest of all, Oprah.

Oprah wore a white and black striped hat on her River Oaks excursion, along with a simple but elegant Brunello Cucinelli white shirt and black pants. But there is no disguising arguably the most famous woman in the entire world. Little crowds of women holding their phones quickly started congregating as the sighting pictures show. Who doesn’t want to see Oprah? Let alone have the chance — albeit a farfetched one — to have an interaction with her.

Oprah was not giving away cars on this gloomy Wednesday in H-Town, though. It appears that Houston may be a post European stop for her as she was mobbed by fans in Italy just earlier this week. When you’re Oprah, getting around the world quickly is not too much of a problem.

And when you want to go shopping, River Oaks District is a worthy stop for even a supernova.
