The Inside Scoop On Fashion’s Latest Drama, Rumors and Happenings
By Francine Ballard //
The rumors persist that Saint Laurent wunderkind Hedi Slimane will leave after his LA show on February 10. And this week news broke that the company is interviewing Belgian designer Anthony Vacarello to fill his spot. Meanwhile, recently vacated posts at Lanvin (Alber Elbaz) and Dior (Raf Simons) are still vacant.
Tory Burch is all aglow with news of her recent engagement to LVMH CEO Pierre-Yves Roussel. LVMH is the omnipotent parent not just to Louis Vuitton, but also French fashion houses Givenchy and Celine, and Donna Karan and Marc Jacobs stateside, among others.
On a sad note, farewell to modernist fashion designer André Courrèges, whose passing left the legacy of the mini skirt and the go-go boot. And with that, I leave you with some beautiful images from Paris Couture Fashion Week, which is going on now. Chanel, Schiaparelli and Dior (even without a lead designer) left me breathless with anticipation for spring.
