Slinky, Sexy Bedtime Outfits Morph Into Daytime Staples
Slip Into Something Comfortable… For Work
By Sydney Mitchell //
In 2015, we saw the slip dress morph into something more than merely a slip dress. One of the first pieces to emerge in the innerwear-as-outerwear movement, the once slinky bedtime item can now be worn alone or used as a functioning layering piece.
It is the perfect mix of daring, effortless, and sexy – think Kate Moss for Calvin Klein in 1993. This simple but elegant silhouette is one of the easiest throw-on-and-go pieces you will own, making it a must-have for your spring wardrobe. This ’90s classic can be dressed down by layering a basic tee underneath and throwing on a pair of slip-ons; if it’s date night, match the slip dress with stilettos and a chic clutch and you’ll be good to go.
Some of our favorite designers — Clavin Klein, Tibi, and Balenciaga — sent slip dresses down the runway for their Spring/Summer 2016 collections.
Think solid colors, neutrals, with embellishments kept to a minimum (excluding the lace accents – you can never go wrong there). Keep simplicity in mind and you will achieve instant classic perfection.
