A Three-Day Cinco de Mayo Celebration Grips Dallas
This May Be the Most Fashionable Party Ever
By India Pougher //
Dallas retail mecca Forty Five Ten is honoring everyone’s favorite day in May — Cinco de Mayo — with their very own “Chic-o de Mayo.” The boutique kicks off the festivities with a fashion-filled weekend of trunk shows and designer appearances.
Start your Thursday at sister store Five and Ten, where Piamita designers, former Vanity Fair editor Cecilia de Sola and former W magazine accessories director Karla Martinez de Salas will be hosting their spring trunk show. The queens of chic loungewear will be at the boutique in Highland Park Village from 10 am to 5 pm, serving up notes on their latest collection and surely some trusted style advice as well.
Kickstart your weekend Friday afternoon from 2 to 5 pm with “Cocktails and Consultations” at Forty Five Ten, where you’ll meet founder and perfumer of Arquiste, (which just developed a fabulous scent in collaboration with the St. Regis Hotels), architect, and historic preservationist Carlos Huber. Also from 2 to 5 pm, meet home accessories designer Jan Barboglio and personalize your favorite piece from her spring/summer collection.
Lastly, stop by Forty Five Ten Friday and Saturday to shop the beach-inspired Dezso Fine Jewelry trunk show and meet the stylist turned designer, Sara Beltran.
