The Wedding Wizards
A Hot Husband & Wife Team Makes the Buzziest Events In Dallas Bloom
By Christina Geyer //
It’s one of the hottest event and wedding businesses in the game. Gro Floral & Event Design, from husband-and-wife owners Nathan and Krisi Johnson, has gained a golden reputation for arranging blooms for top-tier weddings and the most elite events. (Inimitable hostess Nancy Rogers, known for her impeccable taste, called upon Gro to turn Oak restaurant into an explosion of flowers when she chaired The Family Place’s ReUnite Gala. The result was a wonderland of hanging orchids, manicured topiaries and more.)

Recently, Gro debuted a new showroom and design studio in Deep Ellum, where they hold flower-arranging classes — a fun, cathartic experience, where champagne is served and Nathan walks groups through the art of composing flowers. The classes, which are held regularly, can also be arranged for private groups.
And, while we don’t suggest you create your own bridal bouquet, the class would be an awfully chic way for a bride to celebrate her upcoming nuptials with her maids. Gro Floral & Event Design, 3500 Commerce St., 214.370.9846.
