A select group of hostesses and interior designers were treated to a first look at Matouk’s fall 2019 collection of linens at Longoria Collection in Houston’s Uptown Park.
Over light brunch bites and mimosas, guests perused the myriad monogram and customization options Matouk offers with Janet Stein, Matouk vice president of global sales, who was in from New York with Michelle Peranteau, vice president of marketing.
Stein reflected on the storied 90-year history of the third-generation family-owned American luxury linen company and Longoria Collection’s Cherry Damianoff recalled a recent visit to the factory in Massachusetts, where she was able to see firsthand the impressive focus on traditional craftsmanship.
Numerous beds at the stunning store were dressed in beautiful Matouk linens with a few tables were set with the new Margot table linen collection, a personal favorite.
Yours truly, the Houston home design editor of PaperCity, revealed my top tips for how to prepare your home for entertaining and guests.
A few takeaways? Fresh bedding is key, along with an extra set of towels and linens wrapped in a pretty grosgrain bow so guests have no need to make an uncomfortable request. Multiple pillow options, from soft to firm, ensure guests will get a good night’s sleep. To make guests feel extra special, embroider the initials of a frequent guest onto pillowcases or hand towels for their bathroom (Matouk carries great in-stock options of initialed hand towels).
PC Seen: Longoria Collection’s Elizabeth Fertitta; Catherine Giuffre, Courtney Blair, Philippa Fraumeni, Ashley Goforth, Courtnay Tartt Elias, Lila Malone, Marie Flanigan, Nancy Bihlmaier, Tara English, Caroline Brown, Jennifer Barron, Stacy Andell, Liz Mann, Caroline Bean, Molly Solich, Janet Gust, Alex Stillwell, Maggie Vermillion, Jennifer Wizel, Rachel Manning, Michaela Williams, Saba Jawda, Adriana Banks, and Linley Stroud.
