You get to decide by voting for your rightful champ in PaperCity‘s Best Burger Challenge. The winning restaurant takes home serious bragging rights, but you get a chance to win big too.

One voter will be randomly selected to win a $250 gift card from whichever restaurant emerges as the burger champion. That’s some serious patty buying power. You can vote once per day — and the more times you vote, the more chances you have to win.

Boulevardier

Who says a good burger has to be American? French restaurant Boulevardier in the Bishop Arts District serves up a Euro-inspired burger that proves otherwise. The bun is soft pain au lait, and the grass-fed patty is topped with house-made pickles, house-cured bacon, sweet caramelized onions and a generous helping of melty Gruyere.

Knife

This trendy steakhouse, headed by James Beard-nominated and Bravo’s Top Chef John Tesar, is not just for fine dining. The upscale restaurant is famous for its diner-style burgers, especially the Ozersky: A 44 Farms ground sirloin patty with two slices of American cheese, pickles and red onion on a no-frills bun.

Easy Slider

In a city of massive burgers, the sliders from Easy Slider stand small but mighty. Caroline Perini and Miley Holmes opened Easy Slider as a food truck in 2011, and it was so popular that it grew into a brick-and-mortar location in Deep Ellum. The toppings change with the seasons, but the Angus beef patties remain consistently excellent.

Maple & Motor

This burger joint doesn’t mess around. Maple & Motor serves up the simplest of sandwiches, but with a half-pound of perfectly seasoned beef, you don’t need much else. Their classic take on the burger is so good, it made an appearance on the Food Network’s Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives.

Off-Site Kitchen

Nick Badovinus’ Off-Site Kitchen takes fast food to another level. The Trinity Groves spot is perfect for a meal on the go. Thin, crispy patties and fluffy Village Baking Co. buns make for a memorable burger. “Do it Murph-style,” and get it with jalapeño & bacon relish and secret sauce.

The Grape

It’s been nine years since this burger was named the state’s best by Texas Monthly, but it still draws in a horde of people every week for Sunday brunch, and due to popularity now included on Saturday and Monday dinner menus – the only time you can order the coveted sandwich. Chef Brian Luscher took great care in creating this masterpiece of meat.

Keller's Drive-In

This may be the best eat-in-your-car meal available in America. You have to eat in your car at these old school, still crazy cheap burger temples. They’ve been doing it this way for more than 60 years. The 5 Special — double meat, cheese, lettuce, tomato and a special sauce — may be the best burger deal anywhere at $2.48.

Whataburger

Some may consider it sacrilegious to include a mass-market fast food chain on a best burger list, but this is Texas and Whataburger breaks all the rules on what’s acceptable. Sometimes (usually late at night), you may just think Whataburger is the best in the land. We’re not going to judge you for that. This isn’t just another fast food burger.
