Top Houston Fine Dining Restaurant Offers a Free Feast to Government Workers
Tony Vallone Wants to Give Back to People Who Work For America

With the partial government shut down a not-too-distant, painful memory and another one potentially looming in the near future, Houston’s veritable monarch of fine dining, Tony Vallone, is opening his eponymous restaurant to unpaid federal employees. This Sunday, February 10, Tony’s will open for a bountiful luncheon buffet for 250 individuals with government IDs — and their plus ones.
“It’s a thank you,” the generous restaurateur tells PaperCity. “You hate to see anyone and particularly our government put people out of work. These people lost income and some won’t be able to make it up. So this is a nice Sunday meal as a thank you for the people that work for the country.”
The scrumptious buffet of Tony’s signature dishes will be served in three seatings — 11 am, 1 pm and 3 pm. Think Di Campo Salad, Pansoti, Tony’s Cannelloni, Tony’s Meatballs, Chicken Involtini and more along with Italian vegetables, whipped potatoes and an assortment of fab desserts.

To Educate All Children (TEACH) is also thanking federal employees by providing volunteer support for the event.
While establishments including Poitín, Ouisie’s Table, Fuzzy’s Pizza and Killen’s have been offering discounts and the occasional free meal to furloughed federal employees, the opportunity to dine at Tony’s is always a thrilling prospect. The white tablecloth service, the swank surroundings and a colorful history of fine dining are added elements to the experience.
