A New West Ave Store Changes What Work Looks Like

Workplace Solutions, provider of custom services and ultra-sleek products for the office, has opened in Houston’s West Ave shopping district. The 23-year-old Dallas-based company leaps outside the boring gray box with fresh, colorful work spaces and furniture from StudioTK (formerly Teknion Studio), a global design firm known for teaming with design luminaries Patricia Urquiola and Toan Nguyen.
StudioTK creates workplace culture through beautiful and functional design, such as the Sidewise case-goods workstation, which creates small enclaves within open settings.
Look for furniture by venerated manufacturers Bernhardt, Kimball, and Gordon International, which produces designs by Mies van der Rohe. Modular seating and tables from Sandlerseating, Nucraft, and Nevins give a residential feel, while colorful tables and chairs on wheels from Keilhauer make it easy to reconfigure a space and roll between meetings.
