Chinatown’s New Mega Restaurant Development Adds New Chicken Spots, Including a Korean Favorite
Get Ready for Double Fried Chicken
By Annie Gallay //
Culinary creativity is heating up in Chinatown. Once again. A star of the Houston foodie scene, the area is already home to worthy restaurants galore.
And now, it’s about to get even more.
Bellaire Food Street, a massive new restaurant development at 9393 Bellaire Boulevard, is already drawing plenty of attention. Sitting squarely in the center of Chinatown, Bellaire Food Street is set to be a sprawling center for all kinds of eats.
The anticipation is only building. Nine restaurants were confirmed last December. Then, three more restaurants were announced in January.
Now, two more new spots have been revealed.
Soho Chicken is all about a unique Korean cooking style when it comes to those birds: crispy and twice-fried. This double-fried “chikin” method makes for crunchier skin and less grease overall. It’s the kind of chicken you can find at the Museum District’s Dak & Bop restaurant.
Meanwhile, Chongqing Chicken Pot brings your classic hot pot to new heights. It’s a two-in-one experience, with diners ordering up a stir-fry, chowing down, then pouring broth and adding ingredients into the empty bowl. Talk about soaking it up.
These two new Bellaire Food Street restaurants are joining the ranks of the previously revealed Migo Saigon, Beard Papas, Meet Fresh, Pepper Lunch, Fat Ni BBQ, Wai Station, Tom N Toms Coffee, Shi Miao Dao/Ten Seconds Yunnan Rice Noodle, Popfancy Pops and Chatime.
Keep your eyes peeled and your mouth watering. The feast is getting ever closer.
