Fort Worth’s 9 Best New Coffee Shops

The Buzziest Spots for a Pour-Over, Latte, and Hot Cup of Java

By //

Fort Worth apparently has an insatiable appetite for new coffee shops, as more and more keep opening. Fortunately, every new shop offers more than just another spot for a shot of espresso. The passionate curators of coffee culture offer unique spaces, events, and a range of light bites that enrich the offerings and add to Fort Worth’s culture. With nine new shops opening recently, we’re highlighting the newcomers, giving Cowtown even more reasons to linger over a rich cup of java.

Deloulou Cafe

1201 Evans Avenue, Suite 101

Tucked inside a 20-foot shipping container at the CONNEX development on Evans Avenue, Deloulou Cafe brings a playful coffee experience to the Near Southside. The cafe is an offshoot of streetwear fashion brand Marieloulou and carries the label’s colorful aesthetic into a compact gathering space. Behind the project are four Gen Z friends: three college-bound teenagers and a high school senior.

The menu covers coffee and matcha equally, with local favorites including the Tiramisu Latte, Salted Caramel Latte, and Fresh Yuzu Lemonade. Breakfast sliders, pastries, and vanilla and chocolate waffles round out the light bites.

Ivy Coffee Roasters

106 E. Daggett Avenue

After building a following through pop-ups and a coffee trailer, Ivy Coffee Roasters found a permanent home in South Main Village this summer. Owner and roaster Collin Brister roasts Ivy’s beans in-house, while the cafe also makes its own syrups and cold foams.

The menu balances coffee-shop classics with more playful creations. The Golden Hour Latte blends honey, vanilla bean, cinnamon, lavender, and honey cold foam, while the strawberry cold foam has become another signature — and delicious — touch. Breakfast tacos and other light bites round out the experience at this cozy shop.

At The Oaks Coffee House

304 W. Cannon Street

Visitors may recognize At The Oaks Coffee House as the former home of the much-missed Cannon Chinese Kitchen. Owners Anthony and Chelsea Robles have brought the restored bungalow back to life, roasting their own coffee beans and transforming the historic space into a cozy neighborhood gathering spot.

House specialties include the Blueberry Lavender Latte topped with cold foam and the Salted Maple Spanish Latte, made with condensed milk and maple syrup. The food menu goes above and beyond with breakfast tacos, avocado toast, soups, salads, and sandwiches served on housemade focaccia.

Nativo Café y Bodega

1701 White Settlement Road

Nativo Café y Bodega is putting down roots at the intersection of coffee, gardening, and culture. Founder Karla Orta opened the plant-filled café next door to her Nativo Gardens native plant nursery, filling the space with warm wood tones, thrifted furnishings, and plenty of greenery. Those roots extend to the menu, where Orta draws on her Mexican heritage and Texas upbringing. The Nuez de Tejas Latte pairs maple and pecan, while the Chiltepin Honey Latte brings a subtle pepper kick.

Flores Cafe

3321 E. Rosedale Street, Suite 101

Flores Cafe is family-owned and recently opened on East Rosedale with a menu rooted in Mexican flavors and tradition. The colorful neighborhood spot serves hot and iced coffee alongside a small selection of freshly prepared food. Breakfast items include bagels, while the carnitas tortas are packed with slow-cooked pork, onions, and jalapeños.

Vicela: Crafted Excellence

1411 W. Magnolia Avenue

Day or night, you can order your favorite coffee or cocktail at Vicela: Crafted Excellence. (Yes, they have espresso martinis, and they are delicious.) The hybrid coffee shop and cocktail lounge on Magnolia Avenue pours locally roasted coffee alongside lattes, matcha, and a full lineup of cocktails, with pastries and sandwiches available for a bite.

Vicela also keeps things lively with an eclectic calendar of events. Recent happenings have included live music, family movie nights, social bike rides, and Cafecito y Cumbia, a morning market featuring local makers and music.

Bowie Coffee Co.

6475 Camp Bowie Boulevard

Bowie Coffee Co. took over the former Flat Track Coffee space on Camp Bowie this spring, giving the longtime coffee stop a distinctly Fort Worth identity. The menu covers classics like pour-overs, cappuccinos, and cortados alongside the Bowie Bourbon Latte, Blueberry Bliss, and Violet Lavender Latte. Seasonal drinks include the Strawberries & Cream Latte and Blushing Matcha, while locally made 5 Mile Chocolate stars in its mochas and hot chocolate.

Sunrise Scones

309 W. Daggett Avenue, Suite 103

After years of pop-ups and farmers markets, Sunrise Scones opened its first permanent bakery in South Main Village this summer. Located next to Hiro’s Kitchen, it’s part of a new crop of businesses opening near The Holly. Owner Gretchen Seegel specializes in small-batch scones, with flavors ranging from blueberry-lemon and cinnamon-sugar to savory everything-seasoning with spinach and feta. Coffee and tea round out the morning offering

Chill Coffee and Wine Bar

314 S. Main Street, Suite 110

The bubbles may be gone at the former home of champagne bar The Coupe, but Chill Coffee and Wine Bar is bringing its coffee-by-day, wine-by-night concept from Arlington to this bustling stretch of South Main Village. The all-day spot serves coffee and tea alongside wine and mimosas, with pastries, sandwiches, and charcuterie available for a bite. Happy hour brings $4 glasses of wine and $6 cheese and meat plates from 3 pm to 7 pm daily.
