Michelin Guide Texas Winners Are Here — Fort Worth Gets Its First Star, While Dallas and Houston Retain Theirs But See Bib Gourmand Changes
Here's The Complete List of Lone Star Restaurants
By Megan Ziots //
After making its Texas debut in 2024, the Michelin Guide hosted its first two annual awards ceremonies in Houston. But this year, the iconic dining guide made a big change and has dropped the in-person celebration, announcing in August that it would release the 2026 Michelin-starred restaurants only online — by press release and through Michelin’s digital channels.
In the announcement, Michelin explained its reasoning behind the change as part of an evolution of their approach, as the Guide spans over 60 destinations worldwide, to diversify formats through which it unveils the annual restaurant selection.
Now, the day is here that Michelin announces its Texas awards and we’ve rounded up all of the Dallas, Fort Worth, Houston, Austin, and San Antonio spots recognized with Stars, Bib Gourmands, and other distinctions in the 2026 Michelin Guide Texas.
But first, here are a few Dallas, Fort Worth, and Houston highlights we must acknowledge:

The Michelin Stars
Good news: no Dallas or Houston restaurants lost their star. That includes Mamani and Tatsu in Dallas, and BNC Taste & Tradition, Le Jardinier, March, Musaafer, and Tatemó in Houston. Even better news, Fort Worth earned its first star with Goldee’s Bar-B•Q!
In its announcement this morning, the Michelin Guide notes that barbecue restaurants are still continuing to succeed in our state. “Goldee’s Bar-B•Q in Fort Worth shines especially bright as it has been promoted from Bib Gourmand status to One Star,” it notes.
There are now a total of 19 Michelin-starred restaurants in Texas. Austin’s Kappo Kappo and Fabrik earned stars this year as well.
Michelin also says that “many chefs in Texas are building restaurants and dining experiences around a singular creative vision, culinary philosophy or the chef’s personal heritage.”
This is evident in the following new additions to Bib Gourmand and Recommended lists we dive into below. Green Stars were absent from this year’s announcement, but the Guide highlights farm-to-table concepts like McKinney’s Harvest at the Masonic.

What’s Changed in Dallas
In Dallas (where I am based), there was a lot of chatter that Sushi Kozy might win a star this round (we had hoped), but the omakase newcomer retained their Recommended status for a second year. The hype for brand-new Olōyō was real, and they were recognized as Recommended.
“Chef Olivia López has created Olōyō with a strong identity around heirloom Mexican corn, masa, and the cooking of Colima, a state on Mexico’s Pacific coast. While the menu is highly seasonal, dishes like tamales, huaraches (thick corn tortillas with toppings) and sopes (masa-based dough with pinched-up rims) often appear,” states Michelin.
Fond, MĀBO, and Plano’s Jashan were also Recommended newcomers. Georgie was mysteriously removed from this list.
As for Bib Gourmand (which recognizes restaurants that serve high-quality food at an accessible, moderate price), in Dallas, Lucia lost its Bib status (higher prices?) but was moved over to the Recommended list. And Resident Taqueria was finally given a Bib Gourmand. Nothing changed for Fort Worth in either group.

How About Houston
In Houston, no Bibs were lost, but five new spots were added to the list: Murray’s Pizza & Wine, Khói Barbecue, Bar Buena, Xolo, and Kitchen Rumors.
“Everyone at Kahani Social Group [owners of Kitchen Rumors] has poured a piece of themselves into this restaurant, and receiving a Bib Gourmand is deeply emotional for all of us,” co-owner Surpreet Singh tells PaperCity. “It brings back the long nights, the sacrifices, and the moments when we leaned on one another to keep going. The most beautiful part is that every person on our team can look at this recognition and say, “I helped make that happen.’ We’re incredibly grateful to our guests for believing in us and giving our work a place in their lives. We’ll celebrate this together, then get back to doing what brought us here: caring for one another and putting food we’re proud of on every table.”
Michelin notes that “at new Bib Gourmand Xolo, Chef Javier Becerra brings Mexico City to Houston through creative cocktails, bar snacks and small plates, including the Guava Matcha Tini, tuna tostada and triple-cooked octopus with mole blanco.”
For Recommended, Houston additions include Oru, Angie’s Pizza, Mayahuel, Di An Pho, Levant BBQ, Sushi Koriuchi, 1111, Jantra, and Osteria di Mercato.
Levant BBQ “blends Central Texas barbecue with Levantine flavors. Here, classic smoked meats like brisket and ribs live side-by-side with items such as lamb chops, fasolia (a Middle Eastern bean dish), and hummus. With the brisket shawarma, the two cuisines come together seamlessly in the same dish,” says Michelin.
They also boast Jantra, which comes from the husband-and-wife team behind Houston’s Street to Kitchen, Chef Benchawan “G” Jabthong and Graham Painter. “[The couple] has recently opened an ambitious new contemporary restaurant next door called Jantra. This intimate, eight-seat spot departs from the traditional Thai offerings of its Bib Gourmand sister restaurant by featuring a tasting menu that combines Thai flavors, global ingredients, and Chef G’s childhood memories and travels through Thailand, Myanmar, and the U.S.”
