Steak 48 Expands to Dallas With Second-Floor Poolside Dining and Private Glass-Encased Booths in Knox-Henderson
From The Mastro Family, This Steakhouse Import Opened Its First Texas Outpost in Houston 10 Years Ago

I know, I know. It’s another steakhouse opening in Dallas. But this one has Mastro family cred and pretty awesome design plans that I’m going to want to see in person. Steak 48 is coming to 4829 McKinney Avenue in Knox-Henderson.
From Scottsdale-based parent company Prime Steak Concepts, the first outpost of the contemporary steakhouse actually debuted in Houston all the way back in 2016, so one could say it’s overdue for a Dallas expansion.

A Mastro Family Restaurant
Steak 48 comes from James Beard Award-winning brothers Jeffrey and Michael Mastro. Before that, the family created Mastro’s Steakhouse and Mastro’s Ocean Club, which they sold in 2007. These concepts are now owned by Houston billionaire Tilman Fertitta through his hospitality company, Landry’s Inc. Neither of the restaurants currently has a Dallas location, but Mastro’s Steakhouse is on the way to Frisco’s new Fields West development.
Alongside their father, Dennis Mastro, and business partner Scott Troilo, the brothers launched their company in 2014, also called Steak 48 (yes, this is confusing to me also). The group’s portfolio now includes Dominick’s Steakhouse, Steak 44, Steak 48, Ocean 44, Ocean 48, and Durant’s Steakhouse. Steak 48 has six locations within the U.S., with the upcoming Dallas spot being number seven.
“We love Dallas and have spent years searching for the right location,” says Oliver Badgio, Chief Brand Officer of Steak 48, in a press release. “[The Knox-Henderson] neighborhood has an energy that’s hard to miss, which makes it an exciting place for us to put down roots. This location gives us the opportunity to create something special and uniquely Dallas.”

Inside Steak 48 Dallas
Spanning a massive 14,000 square feet, the new two-story restaurant will feature several intimate spaces, including private dining booths separated by floor-to-ceiling glass — with some of these offering views of the kitchen. The second floor will boast tables surrounded by an indoor decorative pool. Other highlights include wood and custom stone accents that will bring texture to the contemporary design.
As for the menu, guests can expect prime steaks, seafood, appetizers, other entrees, sides, an extensive wine list, and cocktails. You know the drill. Signature offerings include:
- Colossal Shrimp Cocktail
- Chef’s Cut Hanging Bacon
- Corn Crème Brûlée
- Caviar Cones
Construction is set to begin soon on Steak 48 Dallas, and we will keep you updated on an opening date.
