Birthday Party Wizards Celebrate Their Own Bday With the Most Unforgettable Extravaganza Ever

Toy Dress Code Kills It (Hey, Mr. Monopoly!

BY // 02.28.18

What: The Birthday Party Project turns 6

Where: The Bomb Factory

PC Moment: Birthdays. Parties. Joy. These are things The Birthday Party Project CEO Paige Chenault does not joke around about. She means business. So when it came time to celebrate the organization’s own birthday (big number six), she went big with a Toy Town-themed extravaganza. And with event pro co-chairs Emily Clarke and Lauren Heiler and friends like Todd Fiscus working their magic, the results were nothing short of incredible.

Think: a gigantic disco ball spinning above a Twister-board dance floor, a life-sized Easy Bake Oven wall filled with mini cakes, and a swirling slide connecting the upstairs bar to the party below.

Even more impressive was how equally committed guests were to the theme, going all out for the “toy” dress code in unapologetically goofy, fun, and nostalgic costumes (we see you, Mr. Monopoly). In addition to the gourmet food stations and an abundance of sugary sweets, the Georgia Bridgewater Orchestra, and DJs Souljah and Julio Rivera kept the energy at maximum levels well into the night. If the idea was to remind everyone of the joy of being a kid again, mission accomplished.

In its six years, The Birthday Party Project has celebrated over 3,500 birthdays with over 22,000 children in attendance, and gained a following of supporters who are as enthusiastic about having fun as they are committed to the children they are helping, including the evening’s honorees, Rebecca Grinnals and Kathryn Arce of Engage! Summits and past chairs Jamie and Brian O’Boyle.
